Made from seamless cold drawn steel for better wall thickness consistency and axial flex characteristics; and finished using the finest centerless grinding techniques. There is no straighter axle anywhere. Our 50mm axles also have an added feature: we weld a sleeve under the inner keyway for the drive gear to prevent shifterkarts from twisting the axle apart under acceleration. 50mm axles are available in three grades: Hard (2.3mm wall thickness); Medium (2.0mm wall); and Soft (1.75mm wall). Axles are engraved the first letter of the grade for easy organization. All 50mm axles are offered in 1040mm lengths; and the Soft and Medium axles are also offered in 1020mm lengths. All 50mm Shockwave axles use pegged keys with two pegs for the hubs and pegged keys with three pegs for the drive gear or sprocket carrier and brake disc. Therefore; you will need two Pegged Key (size D2) and two Pegged Key (size D3) for each 50mm axle. Margay chassis require the brake keyway to be machined in a different location than most brands. We are pleased to make this modification for you at no additional charge; however; be aware that this may delay shipment of your order by one business day. Simply select the "Key for Margay" option above and we will modify your axle accordingly. We also offer a special TaG/100cc version of our 50mm Soft axle. This special axle is identical to the normal soft axle except that the sleeve under the shifterkart drive gear keyway is not included. This eliminates the potential weak point where the sleeve is normally welded to the axle.
